The United States
has lower context than Vietnam because Americans are more simple &
direct when talking, communicating. We have less context,
complications, generally.

What is context? It
means culture. Things not said. Things that people may know but may
not talk about. Some context may be non-verbal. Some of it is not
said but seen in body language, facial expressions, perhaps. But most
of it is implied & assumed through cultures, societies. For
example, take off your shoes when you come inside. People know they
need to take off their shoes. They may not talk about it. If you
don't take off your shoes, they may stare at you. They may not tell
you to take off your shoes. You are supposed to just know what to do
& say & everything. Some things are not explained. They don't
want you to ask too many questions. That is what higher context
means. It means higher culture or more culture. It means more context
is needed. Generally, Eastern countries have more contextualization.
Vietnamese people, for example, may expect you to go with the flow
more, to think with the group. They may not always talk about why
they do what they do. Historically, they've had to work together in
teamwork, in communities, for survival, for growing rice, food, for
fighting in wars, in building, in hunting, in building houses &
other things. Sometimes, traditions are good. Some traditions should
be preserved for historical reflection & because why not? Some
things are still good ideas. Western cultures can learn from Asia to
some extent at least. Eat more rice & oatmeal. Be more patient.
Have more patience, respect, honor. Fight less. Avoid conflicts more.
Pick battles. Care for families more.

Western societies
developed individualism & other things during the past millennium
or more through philosophers, revolutions, inventors, & mostly
through Christianity. Europeans & western countries focus more on
being individuals, independent, with the ability to ask more
questions, to be more honest, moral, & many more things. From
honesty, integrity, transparency, & character, comes
vulnerability which is weakness but it is also potential opportunity
towards strengths, destiny, as we sympathize, empathize, & help
others in so many ways.
