Joey Arnold Why am I on a blacklist? I'm an American in Vietnam. 3 travel agencies said I'm on blacklist.
.
I extended my single entry 3 months DN visa but only 2 times. I applied for a 3rd extension a week before my visa expired from the same agency in Q1 HCM as
I did the first two extensions.
.
My visa expired on the 9th of December 2015 but I applied for a 3rd extension a week before that.
.
I was renting a room until the end of October 2015 when the house was rented out to new people. I was told to go. I had to move out and find a new room. I stayed at a hotel for a while after that. I applied for a visa extension but I didn't have a residence.
.
3 travel agencies mentioned a blacklist. There might be a police report.
.
It might be false accusation. Police and Circle K staff filed police reports against me in October 2014. The store manager got mad at me because I questioned him. I went there sometimes & staff said they liked practicing English with me. I talked to them to be nice but they were maybe rude to me one day and I confronted them about it and they called the police.
.
They filled out reports against me and banned me from the store (Circle K headquarters) and from residence in that ward in District 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
.
I applied for a DL visa in Vietnam in March 2015. I went to Cambodia and came back but with a DN visa. That Sinh Travel agency gave me a DN visa, but I don't do business in Vietnam. I don't work. I am a tourist in Vietnam. I help and volunteer in Vietnam. I love helping people for free and for fun. I was in Vietnam before 2015 as well. I made a new visa in Cambodia for Vietnam in 2015.
.
But I want to know why I can't extend my visa.
.
There are police reports against me in Vietnam. False accusations. Security footage would prove this.
.
I was given a DN visa, but I didn't want that. I wanted DL.
.
I didn't have residence when applying to extend my VN DN visa.
.
Can I submit a form for access to a criminal record by email?
.

Joey Arnold Romelus Saladar, I was told that I was on a blacklist by 3 different travel agencies who asked if I fought with immigration police. They didn't tell me more. The first two agencies told me to go to immigration. I was too scared to go there. I feel that I will be deported if I go there. They might be waiting for me to go there to kick me out of Vietnam. I don't know why I would be on a blacklist.
.
I'm not on a list because my visa expired because I was told I was on a list before my visa expired.
.
I don't think I'm on a list for having the wrong visa because I was allowed to extend that DN visa 2 times already before without problems from the same residence address which may have not registered me with police. I didn't pay taxes. That could be a problem, but I think that you only pay taxes if your income is high enough. But I don't officially work and therefore have no real income and therefore would not be required to pay taxes and I didn't want a DN visa in the first place.
.
If I am on a black list, it might be because of the reports against me from that day at that store in 2014. If I have to pay money at immigration, then I am willing to do that but I don't want to risk being deported yet.

Joey Arnold Romelus Saladar, I can meet the requirements if I have residence in Vietnam or if I leave Vietnam and give somebody in Vietnam permission to look into it on my behalf. I understand that already but I emailed them already asking for an exception for my case.

Joey Arnold Romelus Saladar, when I'm ready to risk deportation, I'll go to immigration to face their judgment & wrath. At that point, I may never be allowed back to Vietnam again. Plus, I will be less motivated to return after that.
.
I want to make sure I've exhausted all other options before going to the Vietnamese police to turn myself in for being such a terrible human being. I may turn myself in after Tet 2016.

Wrong Visa.....

Dear U.S. Embassy or Consulate, I wasn't able to extend my visa in Vietnam. I'm American, born in the year 1985 in Oregon.
.
I moved to Vietnam in the year 2012, November 29th on a 3-months multiple entry tourist visa which I extended 2 times. I came to Vietnam to teach at a school but the school changed it's mind & hired a female teacher from the Philippines on my 5th day in Vietnam. I felt betrayed but I decided to stay in VN as a freelance teacher and volunteer. I love helping people & have wanted to travel & contribute to the world since I was 8 years old.
.
I visited Cambodia twice to make new visas which I extended, first in 2013, & again in March 2015 where I asked for a DL tourist visa but they gave me a DN business visa.
.
Sinh Travel gave me a 3 month DN visa which I extended twice with Tuan Travel while living at my last address from 10-2014 - 10-2015:
219/9 Pham Ngu Lao, Q1 HCM.
.
At the end of October 2015, I had to find a new room because the house was being leased or rented to a new family. I was living there for 13 months & had to go. The Vietnamese family moved out & I went to live at a hostel.
.
I went to extend my visa again at Tuan a week before my visa expired but they said I was on a blacklist. I went to Chi Cafe & she said the same thing. After that, went to Mr.Thuy. They all talked about it. They asked if I fought with police or immigration. There might be a police report on me.
.
In October 2014, Circle K staff called the police on me. They got mad at me. I use to go there sometimes. I would buy food & the staff would practice English with me a little. They wanted to. That one day, they were too busy to say hello to me. That's ok but I thought they were rude. I tried to ask them about it but that led to the manager calling the police.
.
Immigration asked for my passport & I said no. But didn't think they were from immigration at that time. I tried to leave but they tackled me, tied me up for a few hours, searched my backpack without my consent, & then began treating me nicer when they saw I was American (they found my U.S. passport). They banned me from that store (Circle K headquarters) & wasn't allowed to rent rooms in that ward in District 4. At least, this is what I was told.
.
I might be on a blacklist because of the reports the police & store staff filed that day in 2014. If that is the case, I would like to pay what I owe. I want to plead innocent, as in not guilty, but I understand that they may find me guilty despite the security camera & footage at that store which would say otherwise to prove my innocence.
.
I also tried a 4th travel agency which said I wasn't on a blacklist & only needed residence when applying for a visa extension.
.
The landlord or people at my last room probably didn't register me with the ward committee police and instead just paid bribe money, or coffee money. But my visa was extended 3 times while at that address. Websites & agencies don't say that residence is required for extensions to be made. They said I should rent a room & extend my visa with the aid of a residence paper.
.
3 travel agencies said I'm on a blacklist & the fourth said I just need residence. I might be on a list because of the reports they filed at the store in 2014 or because I didn't pay taxes. Foreigners with DN visas may be expected or required to pay taxes. Their companies take care of that. Mine isn't since I don't have a company. I'm a tourist or freelancer. I understand that teaching or working is illegal without a work permit. However, I believe that I'm not officially working & my income is less than $20,000 USD a year, or actually less than maybe $500. My income goes up & down as a freelancer. I'm not the only freelance American English teacher in VN, but I understand that I could maybe get in trouble for it while the rest gets away with it.
.
I want to know what I can do now. My visa expired on the 9th of December 2015. I wasn't able to extend my visa. I want to make a new visa for Vietnam. I want to live in Vietnam & help the next generation here excel as Vietnam develops more & more. I love Vietnam & I hope people can have patience as Vietnam makes transitions from the older generations to the newer generations with the aid of globalization, capitalism, while balancing & grounding itself upon fundamental culture which must be preserved & in which makes Vietnam truly unique in a world of copies & sequels & reboots. I love the coffee here.

VN Travel Crime 02...

Tell the police to throw me in jail. I'm illegally in Vietnam. My visa expired last year. I'm homeless for the past few months. Legally, I don't know what I should do. I tried to extend my visa 4 times. I began trying before it expired.
.
They said I'm on a blacklist. But the 4th agency said I need residence. No blacklist. Which is true? Blacklist or white list? They said the landlord of my last room didn't register me with the ward committee police, but how was I able to extend 3 times & renew 1 time at that same address if that address wasn't registered? Why can't I extend my visa? I think it might be because I didn't have a residence when applying for an extension and not because of what my last landlord did or didn't do with residence registration where I was living. I think maybe it doesn't matter where I was living & maybe it only matters where you are living at the time of the visa extending process.
.
Maybe there is a limit for how many times a 3 months DN business visa can be extended. I came to Vietnam from the Cambodian border gate in March 2015 & extended that visa 2 times with my last address. Maybe, that visa has a limit of 9 months, which means only 2 extensions allowed. That would mean I can't extend it for a 3rd time now.
.
Why can't I extend my visa? 1. Because of police reports against me from what happened at Circle K? 2. Because of the 9 months visa limit? 3. Because of a lack of residence? 4. Because of a lack of employment?

Joey Arnold Romelus Saladar, Soren Kirchner, it seems that you only care about money. I care about justice. You just want to run and hide from problems. I want to fight injustice, even at the cost of my life or at least my wallet.

Soren Kirchner no, I care about YOU notlosing money and being able to work here legally. I admire your work and this problem is getting in the way of student success thru u. Get out of your way please.
Joey Arnold
Joey Arnold I did not go to Vietnam for money.
Joey Arnold
Joey Arnold Soren Kirchner, I can't help people in Vietnam if I'm NOT in Vietnam. I don't want to leave Vietnam because I don't know what will happen after that.
.
If I can't return to Vietnam, I want to know that BEFORE I leave and NOT AFTER I leave. I just need
a simple answer from immigration. I will accept their rules and ruling. But I want the government of Vietnam to simple tell me the rules specifically.
.
First, I want to know why I couldn't extend my visa in 2015. I want to know specifically why and what happened. Second, I want to know if I can make a new visa for Vietnam somehow. I really just want to know those two things before I leave Vietnam. I do not want to leave without knowing those two things with honest details for it all. I want to know who did what and why and how and where and what for and everything.
.
I do not want to just run away and forget about it. I do not want to save my money and run away and hope for something magical to happen....

Joey Arnold Romelus Saladar, I did not say residence card. When I talk about residence, I just wrote "Residence" and not "Residence Card." I understand the differences. Some people can apply for a residence card.
.
If I'm on a list, then why would leaving and com
ing back clear you from that list? Why would the punishment or penalty simply be to leave the country and to come back to that same country?
.
If you are on bad black list, then maybe it is because of something bad. Maybe I did something bad. Therefore, I should have to go to jail or pay a fine. If I have to pay a fine, then why does the fine have to be paid at the border and why would an country exit be required?

Romelus Saladar Hihihihihihihihi.... OF COURSE.. hahahahaahaha... oh by the way..... if you are LACK of a RESIDENCE.... what does that ALSO mean... hihihihihihi... hahahahaahahaha.... to be in a country as a RESIDENT... you need to be a RESIDENT.. that means you need to hold IDENTITY as a RESIDENT.... hihihihihi... therefore A RESIDENT CARD... hahahahaahahaha... you can't call yourself a RESIDENT... at most... you're a TOURIST... that is a DIFFERENT status to a DN category... hahahaahahaha... it's always sad to hear your story... it's FUNNY how you can't UNDERSTAND what you are SAYING !!!

Soren Kirchner Solution (I repeat) is to go to the Imiigration police. I have found them to be helpful They will fix the problem and you will have to pay a fine, perhaps. Cheaper to face up to it now than wait and watch your fine go up.

Joey Arnold Soren Kirchner, I have to pay a fine to fix the problems that other people made? I have to pay debts that I do not owe? I have to suffer for the negligence of agencies who failed to tell me what I need to know?
.
Romelus Saladar, Vietnam law requires t
he travel agencies to tell me what I need to know. I was reading the Vietnamese laws and I think it talked about the requirements of the travel agencies. I believe that they failed to tell me the exact requirements that I must meet.
.
I tried 4 times to extend my visa. I was not told what my requirements might be. They simply say that they will try to help me. Of course, they can fail and that is ok, but they didn't really give me an outline of rules, laws, and real-life examples of what happens if this happens or if that happens.... case 1... case 2.... and that is what I want to know more about......

Soren Kirchner Good. Take all of your documents and make your case to the police now. You will have to face it later or sooner. Sonner at worst is cheaper and at best maybe you get your lucky break? Either way, what you are doing to yourself is not good for you and for your students

Joey Arnold Somebody is trying to get me residence in order to extend my visa. I will wait for that. I may wait some more days for that. If that doesn't work, then I'll try something else.....
Joey Arnold
Joey Arnold Romelus Saladar, you might be insulting me. You might be mocking me. Maybe, you are making fun of me. You might be blaming me for what agencies did. First, they made me a DN visa even tho I asked for a DL. It's my fault for not knowing everything & for not going back to them after seeing DN in my passport. But it's still there fault for doing it in the first place, which is more important than what I did. My fault is only as big as the fault of police not stopping crime. I didn't stop a crime. But the agencies did the crime, not me.
.
And there is a difference between a residence paper that simply says you live somewhere according to the ward committee police and a residence card which is only made eligible for expats who are not simply short-term tourists. Most expats work & are therefore able to apply for a residence card which is not simply for an address in VN but rather a status which might be a path towards becoming naturalized as in becoming a citizen.... it may not actually be a path & you may not be able to become Vietnamese that way like you can in maybe some countries, but it is a condition that is different or higher than that of mere tourist status....

.
